SNEAK PEEK 2009
Have a look at what’s in store for next season.
By Martin Olson, Technical Editor
Consumer electronics may set the pace for
changing technology today, but ski gear
can’t be far behind. Next season will see
several innovative developments in gear like
the interesting new rocker-shape skis from
Salomon. In general, however, the trend
continues toward perfecting more versatile
gear, such as the Rossignol Mutix and S4
Freesystem binding, Nordica HellDiver and
Völkl Tigershark, as well as the many wider skis
that can both slice the corduroy and perform
respectably in the pow. Backcountry boots and
skis continue to evolve, too, combining the
best of both disciplines, especially in boots.
Of course, this “Sneak Peek” remains just a
teaser of ski gear on the horizon. Watch for
Ski Canada’s fall annual Buyer’s Guide 2009
for the full story.
